Remember there’s a rule which states monsters can’t be harmed with bullets. There’s no logical reason but it is so bcs it’s a rule. Same way this is rule of obliteration, where the saint’s ruine will affect the cells of creatures of this world causing it to rapidly age and die bcs the rule don’t allow transformations. So it’s not necessarily a poison but take effect regardless of the power of the person affected bcs it simply is a rule
In case of our boi he applied it just in his hand and his immortal cells don’t allow it to spread anywhere else. So only the hand withers away but as soon as the withering away is done, the energy accumulated from saint’s ruine is still there and it rushes into the body creating another immortal cell and as for regeneration he may already have that power
And of course or boi thinks the Rule still is applied on him bcs he’s weak and once he gets strong the Rule won’t affect him. Classic op knucklehead logic ofcourse
