He seems to not know the needs and understanding of two noble family, in modern world, called conglomerates , and thinks that randomly selected a person based on looks and first impression is a better choice because thats trend nowadays.
Being able to suggest what one truly wants is best characteristics one can have , but author is trying to make hero out of the girl who outrightly rejects the idea.
